I have lived at Lagden Farm since 1987 having moved from my 'home' just 3 miles away.. I started breeding sport horse Morgans soon after that. I had no intention of ever having anything to do with Morgan Horses, my terriers were the cause of it all , but that's another story.
I am one of the bigger Morgan Sport Horse breeding units in Europe selling Morgans to most continental countries also America and Australia.
My grandfather was of the founder members of the Welsh Pony and Cob Society registering the Bicton prefix in 1908 this was disbanded during World War One but was restarted when my parents bought me 3 Welsh Sec A mares when I was just a teenager and several of my Welsh mares go back to these 3 mares all bearing the Bicton prefix once more.
I was given a thoroughbred brood mare for my 21st Birthday present by my father and most of my non morgan horses are decended from dear Barnlight, a lovely little mare whose quality can be seen in all of her decendants.
I myself have been a jack of all trades and a master of none, having competed in dressage, showjumping, eventing and I have always been very proud of the prizes won in showing classes for home bred stock which is always incredibly gratifying.
We schooled and rehomed over 80 ex-racehorses and remember every single one and nearly every home they went too. All wonderful lovely horses who I am happy to say have all gone to wonderful kind loving homes. It is a special feeling giving these lovely horses another chance in life.
We have always had J.R Terriers in our family with the lineage going back over 50 years. I branched out into Black and Tan J.Rs and in the last 12 years into K.C registered Norfolk Terriers.
We usually have puppies of some sort at Lagden Farm.
